"It would clog up the courts" is not an argument for Parliament. They give effect to its will. It does not legislate for their convenience.
Yet an assisted suicide would not have to be approved by a sitting High Court judge after all. Just a psychiatrist, a social worker, and a retired High Court judge.
Kim Leadbeater and her supporters have been planning this all along, and they would not stop there. It is they who must be stopped.
Hard to see how the pro-suicide side will argue they didn’t hoodwink MPs during the second reading.
ReplyDeleteKim Leadbeater just invented tribunals. Alas, explanations of where the money will come from remain elusive. For reference, the salary of a legally qualified chair of a First-tier Tribunal (Mental Health) panel is £134k.
They are trying to sell this as a strengthening. They have no shame.
