As a disabled person, I am excited beyond words at the possibility of Jamie Driscoll’s Total Transport Network, while as a mixed-race person, I am terrified beyond words at the prospect of Kim McGuinness, since she or one of her supporters might mistake me, or anyone else who was not a pureblood Northern European, for a “Gypsy”. Shamima Begum was 15 when she did what she ought not to have done. McGuinness was 26, 10 or more years into working life in the experience of most voters in the North East, when she posted this.
These questions remain unanswered, and they will remain unanswered. There is nothing less than a duty to Holocaust remembrance to vote for Jamie. Cushti bok to him, indeed.
