If Travis King really did run into North Korea to escape racism, then he would not have been the first to have done something like that. A Democrat sent them to war, too, while doing almost nothing at home.
Likewise, the Presidents were Democrats who spent without effective limit on the war in Vietnam while leaving the poor, especially but not exclusively the black and brown poor, to rot in America, as set out in Netflix's Bobby Kennedy for President. And the President is a Democrat who would rather send yet more dollars to Ukraine, where they "look like us", than to Hawaii, where most of them do not.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s name recognition is the recognition of someone else's name, and in any case the Kennedys have won one Presidential nomination ever and one Presidential election ever, each by a hair's breadth if they really won the Presidential election at all, and both 64 years before 2024.
Their latest standard-bearer deserves a domestic policy role, but his views on Israel and Palestine, though wholly of a piece with the record of his family, are an absolute disqualification from a foreign policy position, obviously including the Presidency. The Presidential candidate is Cornel West. No one would be running into North Korea to escape any racism under him.
When Biden is the nominee, will RFK endorse him or West?
ReplyDeleteThat will be the test of Kennedy's mettle.
