Revitalise

"I don't want to be Prime Minister," says Rishi Sunak. Or words to that effect. And of course we all know what that means.

At 65, and after a very good run of 10 years, Boris Johnson will hand over to the 49-year-old Sunak. That will be in the next Parliament, when there are going to be even more Red Wall Conservative MPs than there are now.

Sunak is splashing the cash both on principle and for rather more pragmatic reasons. And good luck to him. Some of us have ample time to get used to the prospect of being older than the Prime Minister.
