What should we think about Boris Johnson's speech? About as much as he does. Before he read it out, then he would never even have seen it. He is not allowed to have the "wrong" cup of coffee without its being snatched out his hand by a "handler", so it is more than safe to say that he does not write one word of his speeches.
Who are these "handlers"? Why does nobody ever ask? But our rulers have all been like this for as long as I can remember. In the full knowledge that they are just puppets of people whose very names we are almost never allowed to know, why has anybody ever voted for any of them? The sheer want of an alternative, I suppose.
Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration. After nearly 30 years of suggestion, speculation, and even a sort of preparation, I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham. The crowdfunding page is here, and buy the book here.
