Green Shoots All Over Again

Almost everybody wrongly remembers a recession until the day of the 1997 Election, and the only people who do not are the ones who bizarrely think that some economic Golden Age made people feel "able" to vote Labour. Although whether they would still wish to give that level of credit to John Major, Michael Heseltine and Ken Clarke, somebody ought now to ask them.

No, even assuming that anybody noticed, nobody is going to pay any attention to these claims of jobs all over the place and of booming wages. Like Sajid Javid's attempt at an Ed Balls Budget, which went completely unnoticed even by the people who would normally have been shrieking about "free stuff" and "the Magic Money Tree", nobody is listening. Nobody can see the slightest sign of it in their own lives.

Another hung Parliament is coming, however, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. A new party is now in the process of registration. After nearly 30 years of suggestion, speculation, and even a sort of preparation, I will stand for Parliament here at North West Durham. The crowdfunding page is here, and buy the book here. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
