Of No More Significance

Most of UKIP's MEPs walked out because Gerard Batten had hooked up with "Tommy Robinson". But today, "Robinson" has announced that he is going to stand against UKIP in the European Elections. Well, there we are.

Stephen Yaxley-Lennon is not going to be elected. Nor is "Count Dankula". Nor is "Sargon of Akkad". No, these people are not politically significant. No, they do not have huge followings, or what have you. They simply don't. Proving that point, although it will not be difficult to do, is one of the two main priorities for these European Elections.

The other, which will also be quite easy, will be to ensure that Tony Blair's is half of all votes for Change UK, leaving it, like the rump of UKIP, with no seats. Thereby demonstrating that Blair was now a figure of no more significance than "Sargon of Akkad", or "Count Dankula", or "Tommy Robinson".

Beyond that, another hung Parliament is coming, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. It has become a local commonplace that I am on 30-30-30 with Labour and the Conservatives here at North West Durham, so that any one of us could be the First Past the Post. I will stand for this seat, if I can raise the £10,000 necessary to mount a serious campaign. Please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.

  1. Lindsay MEP has a solid ring to it. You could also not be prosecuted as they would not be your peers. That would stump the DPP

    1. Couldn't raise the deposit in time. Like George Galloway, so I'm in good company.

  2. Galloway is loaded, he could easily have paid the £5k deposit and paid for yours too.

What do you expect the result would have been had you been able to stand? Did Alex Watson, George Galloway and Davey Ayre not have a whip round for you?

    1. Not that it is anyone's business, but George is far from "loaded". He'd be a candidate now if he were.
