Activist Base

MPs who backed Theresa May might be deselected? Are you having a laugh? Where do you think that those MPs came from? Where do you think that Theresa May came from? At best, there are no more Eurosceptical activists in the Conservative Party than in any other. In any great numbers, they evidently do not exist.

Support for the EU runs through party political activism in this country. Other than the DUP, every party in the House of Commons has a pro-EU majority at every level of its life, albeit with fairly sizeable redoubts of scepticism in the Conservative and Labour cases, and larger ones than you might think among the Scottish Nationalists and the Greens. There are even Lib Dem doubters. But the parties at large are heavily Remain, and the DUP, as a party, would have been so "reluctantly" if the old man had been dead a few more years in 2016.

Whenever the next General Election comes, then there is going to be another hung Parliament, and we need our people to hold the balance of power in it. I need £10,000 in order to stand for Parliament with any chance of winning. My crowdfunding page has been taken down without my knowledge or consent. But you can still email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com instead, and that address accepts PayPal.
