Even Enoch Powell, in the Rivers of Blood speech, ruled out the inclusion of students as immigrants.
If the Conservatives will not even do that, then this week's local elections will confirm, as they very well might have done anyway, that London has been added to the long list of places where that party no longer makes any kind of effort.
It pretends to itself that it never did do very well in those areas, and it hopes that no one will remember that, not very long ago at all, it did.
