Porton Down And Out

While the BBC leads with a 96-year-old's scheduled hip operation, Sky News brings us the devastating news that Porton Down has been unable to establish that the substance used against the Skripals came from Russia.

It is, however, sticking to the story that that substance was Novichok, and that there is no antidote to Novichok. Funny, then, that both of the Skripals are still alive more than four weeks later, that Yulia has recovered quite significantly, and that DS Nick Bailey, inexplicably the first responder, has got up and gone home.

Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Gavin Williamson should all resign. They won't, of course. But they should.  And Jeremy Corbyn has at least been more right than they were. Although even he has given too much credence to their wild claims, which he ought to have dismissed out of hand, since they have now turned out to have been completely baseless.

As some of us said from the start. You know what you have to do, brothers and sisters. You know what you have to do.

  1. "Categorical" Johnson called it in the Commons and to Deutsche Welle. Liar. But Ant of Ant and Dec has had his court hearing deferred so that will be the official main news.

    1. It was all a lie, and now that has been confirmed from the previously whipped horse's mouth.

Johnson told Deutsche Welle that this had been proven "categorically" at Porton Down. Porton Down has now publicly denied that. He should be toast, along with the Prime Minister who appointed him despite his astonishing record of brazen dishonesty.

We have poisoned relations with a key post-Brexit trading partner over this, and possibly with more than one. We have been to the brink of war. But it was all a lie.
