At the age of 98, Archduke Otto von Habsburg has gone to his rest. Requiescat in pace. A great proponent of Catholic Social Teaching, and less successfully of an idea of Europe now being abandoned in the cold light of day by the Bavarian party for which he sat as an MEP, he died a speaker of numerous languages and a citizen of Germany, Austria, Hungary and Croatia.
Well, of course he was, and of course he did. To this day, certain German, Magyar and Slavic surnames are found throughout the former Austria-Hungary. Such (such as Lusotropicalism, such as Unionism and Commonwealth patriotism) is the Kingdom of God, which those who do not accept it as little children will never enter.
Hence the importance of the Infant of Prague, an image, not only of Christ in all His Meekness and Majesty, but also of that specifically in terms of a thoroughly multiethnic empire predating the rise of ethnic nationalism in Europe, an integral and central part of the collapsed Modern project. No wonder that the Holy See vigorously opposed the dismemberment of Yugoslavia.

It is time to bring back the Ottoman Empire. Since it died there has only been slaugher. Today look at Syria and Libya. Today the Greeks are the beggars of Europe.
ReplyDeleteBut Turkey is in the ascent----
The Secular Caliphate must be formed. The smart poor Greek children must not be disadvantaged. A modern Janissary system must be created to give them opportunities in the Greater Med.
For the Ottomans did give opportunities. Think of the Great Ataturk. He was a boy from Salonika (only Hellenic-Supremist chauvenist separatists use the illegitimate name "Thessaloniki" - fanatics!), Albanian in origin on his father's side and mixed Turkish and Bulgarian on his mothers.
Or the scion of the so-called Egyptian Royal Family, an Albanian turncoat who was recognised, trained and promoted by the Ottomans.
And lets remember that the Ottoman Sultans had Bulgarian, Serbian, Armenian and indeed French blood in their veins. The true inter-continental dynasty.
Let those peoples torn apart by territorial separatists and sectarian bigots be united again in one land!
For what is the difference between an Anatolian sheep and a Thracian sheep? For what is the difference between a Belgrade kebab and a Tunis kebab?
There are righteous men spiritually awaiting to reunify us.
