The Knees On Our Necks

Keir Starmer is more loyal to Robert Jenrick than he is to Rebecca Long-Bailey. Welcome to being in or out of the club. It is not that I have ever especially rated Long-Bailey. But this is what you now get for a factual statement, merely because it contains the word Israel.

Astonishing, there are people who are claiming that because the Israeli Police have taken to The Jerusalem Post to deny their very well-documented teaching of neck-kneeling to their counterparts in the United States and elsewhere, then somehow that settles the matter. I am sorry if that is what you are used to, but in Britain no one thinks of either the Police or the Press as saints, and people make up their own minds about the very common disputes between them.

If you have probably a very right-wing Labour MP, or certainly a very right-wing Labour-led council, or both, then as of this afternoon you are under Israeli Occupation. You should behave accordingly, especially towards the occupying power that is the Labour Party.

For example, the removal of the Leader of Durham County Council from his seat next year is now central to the Palestinian struggle. As the Israeli State's teaching of neck-kneeling to the murderers of George Floyd illustrates, the Palestinian struggle is central to the anti-racist and anti-imperialist struggle throughout the world.

And the anti-racist and anti-imperialist struggle is central to the struggle for economic equality and for international peace. Therefore, it is now central to the struggle for economic equality and for international peace that the Leader of Durham County Council be removed from his seat next year. Some of us know just the man to do it.
