Boris Johnson is many things, and one of them is a tactical genius.
No one had ever suggested taking down the statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square. Johnson has launched and won a culture war over literally nothing.
That statue had had graffiti once. What hasn't, at some point? But Johnson saw his opportunity, and he took it. Now he has "saved Churchill". He's a genius.
