Politically, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump have far more in common with each other than either of them has with Joe Biden, who has been running for President since 1987 but who has only just won his first state primary.
The Establishment's rallying around Biden in the cause of neoliberal economic policy and neoconservative foreign policy corresponds to its rallying around Keir Starmer in the same cause. We may wish both efforts equal success at the General Election.
Ours is the 2020 Vision of a new political party, a new think tank, a new weekly newspaper, a new monthly cultural review, a new quarterly academic journal, and so much else besides. I will be standing for Parliament again here at North West Durham next time, so please give generously. In any event, please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
