In France, led by the trade unions, they took to the streets and forced the Government to back down from raising the state pension age to 64.
In Britain, the state pension age is about to go up to 66, but there is no intention of stopping there, and rather than taking to the streets, we have to make do with the Labour Leadership Election.
I will be standing for Parliament again here at North West Durham next time, so please give generously. In any event, please email davidaslindsay@hotmail.com. Very many thanks.
