Borderline Thinking

The Irish Government does not want to enforce a border on the island of Ireland.

And the British Government does not want to enforce a border in the five Sinn Féin constituencies where that would be necessary, comprising the entire Border area on that side.

Yes, every seat on the Northern Irish side of the Border has a Sinn Féin MP. There is also at least one Sinn Féin TD in each of the four Dáil constituencies along the Border, and one of those TDs is Gerry Adams.

So, what if neither Government ever put up those border posts? What if they just never did? What, exactly, would anyone do?
