A Good Day To Be Alive

The risk of miscarriage from amniocentesis is higher than the chance (not "risk") of having a child with Down's Syndrome.

Things are looking up in this wicked world, after all.

The discoverer of the chromosomal cause of Down's, the late Professor Jérôme Lejeune, was a stalwart of Opus Dei and of the global pro-life movement, and was thus a staunch opponent of prenatal diagnosis.

His stance cost him the Nobel Prize in Medicine.
