Much enjoyed by my relatives there.
But remember whose incompetence caused the invasion in the first place. My personal favourite is that the ships that then had to be deployed had been about to be sold at a bargain basement rate. To Argentina.
And never trust anyone who professes to support the Falkland Islanders but who is not equally fulsome in support of the Chagos Islanders.
Anyone who professes to support the Falkland Islanders without having heard of the Chagos Islanders is a Harry Enfield caricature Thatcherite, still tanked up on cheap lager after all these years, and still yet to open a book, or even a newspaper without pornography in it.
Bringing us to that financial dependent of Page 3 and of Sun Bingo, Oliver Kamm of The Times.
Kamm's beloved Denis Healey did at least have the virtue of consistency in his equal contempt for both sets of British Citizens on British territory.

Something very similar now also presents itself on Ascension Island, which played an important part in the Falklands War.
If only RT will give me a platform from which to air the grievances of the community on Ascension, then the fault is in everyone else, as it has most certainly turned out to be in the past.
In the meantime, watch RT. No one else gives a voice to the Chagossians, either.
Why would anyone give you a platform? Who are you?
ReplyDeleteSomeone who has appeared twice, at its request on both occasions, on a global television network with half a billion viewers.
DeleteHave you?
You are still feeding them stories I see, you have a very fruitful behind the scenes relationship with all sorts of outlets including RT.
DeletePeople who know how to spot you see you turning up all over the place. Do you think that being named would be vulgar, blow your cover, what? But as you say you have been on in the flesh more than once.
It must gall the Kammites no end that someone like you or Neil Clark gets this kind of exposure and has Kamm, a Mudoch hack, ever even been on Sky? A Times columnist no less, he has never been on anything like Question Time or Any Questions.
It is about to get a whole lot worse for House Blair, or is it House Murdoch? Chilcot is coming.
Is that from Game of Thrones? I have given up trying to watch Game of Thrones, which has a far smaller audience than its level of media coverage would suggest.
DeleteBut from what I hear of it, and from what I know of its loose sources, all that I can say in response to the Blair-Murdoch question is, "Wendi Deng".
Yours is a uniquely important voice and I salute you.
ReplyDeleteOn the subject of Oliver Kamm.
ReplyDeleteSimon Heffer's Prospect debate with him on the English language is well worth reading.
Both are fine writers.
