Will there be this kind of hagiography when Gary Glitter dies? Will all the unpleasantness just be skimmed over?
Chris Woodhead had an affair with a pupil, which would now be an imprisonable offence, and only last November, a school the governing body of which he chaired, away from those pesky local authorities and what not, was found to have employed a convicted American child molester who went on to abuse there.
That is a clear pattern.
File Sir Chris Woodhead alongside Sir Leon Brittan (who lies in an unmarked grave, with no Government representation at the memorial service of a Home Secretary from the governing party), Sir Jimmy Savile (the BBC and Margaret Thatcher's staff had to ration her appearances on his programmes because she was so obsessed with being on them as often as possible, and she knighted him at her fourth attempt after the vetting process had rejected him three times), Sir Peter Morrison (on whom Thatcher was completely dependent), Sir Cyril Smith (the most right-wing Liberal MP since the nineteenth century, well to the right of the Tory wets, and accordingly beloved of the Leaderene) and Sir Laurens van der Post (with whom Thatcher was transfixed).
The Radical Right advocated the abolition of the age of consent, and, as with the legalisation of drugs, it practised what it preached.
As for the feud between Greville Janner and Simon Danzcuk, the Labour Hard Right's private grief is its own affair, even before last place in the Leadership Election goes to the former staffer and handpicked successor of that corporate stooge, Patricia Hewitt, who was herself the handpicked successor of Greville Janner.
I can't believe a thing Danzcuk says. He attacks people who can't defend themselves and none of his accusations are provable.
ReplyDeleteI tend to think that he is right, but I therefore wish that he were someone else.
