Through a think tank heavily funded by the private healthcare industry, Lord Warner has called for a £10 monthly charge to use the NHS.
Of course, that is not going to happen. The party with the same sources of funding is not going to win next year's General Election.
But if Lord Warner continued to receive the Labour Whip, then the message would be that the Labour Party had no right flank, since the expression views such as this was acceptable on its behalf as a parliamentarian.
