One Drop of Black Blood to The Brain?

Hall was scarcely less Caucasian than I am, and he was considerably lighter-skinned than many of my close relatives, although he nevertheless maintained that he was the darkest member of his own family.

We are still in the world of the One Drop Law, with one drop of black blood making an intellectual a "black intellectual", so that whiteness remains strictly members only.

It is as if Stuart Hall had never been born.
