Lobby Fodder

This has nothing to do with policy.

Ask yourself why we are not being given discussion of that, instead.

How could you? For 24 Hours now, I have been composing a Piece for my Blog which would have been entitled Lobby Fodder.
I feel you should at least offer me an alternative headline now that I cant use Lobby Fodder.
I first and last met Laird (sic) Laird when he was by his standards just Humble John Laird at the West Belfast count at the 1973 Assembly Elections.
Just wondering here that the real issue is Lobbying Companies. Do we actually need them? I have been looking at some websites and the services offered seem rather vague.
    " Influencing public policy"
They seem a bit like those Online Escort Agencies, whose services link ahem customer with server provider via an ahem agent?
    Should we ban lobbying companies?
    or legalise prostitution.
    It seems a double standard.

You really do owe me a headline David.

  2. Feel free to use it, with my compliments.

Laird seems to be an "Ullans" crank more than anything else. With all the public money that that involves.

Mackenzie gives his proudest achievements as compromising the right to silence and allowing people who had been acquitted to be tried again for the same offence.

We should be talking about things like that. Not about this.

  3. Oh trust me on this one....he is no crank.
Or perhaps the wisest crank in Christendom.
The Blog post is now up.
I entitled it " Lobby Companies and Escort Agencies"
