Hagel's Hundred

This week's centenary of the birth of Richard Nixon is splendidly marked by the nomination of Chuck Hagel.

Confirmed or not, that nomination in itself makes it clear that Obama's America will have no part in any war against Iran.

The party of Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, even Reagan in many ways, Jim Baker and the Congressional opponents of Clinton's wars lives and thrives.

On the other side of aisle.

And in the White House.

  1. Mr Lindsay.

How can Obama, who murders innocents with robotic drones in Pakistan, supports gay marriage, forcing Catholic Universities to hand out the Pill, and backs abortion even outside the womb (he voted against a bill to revive newborns who survived botched abortions) and who has bribed every segment of the electorate, including wealthy taxpayers, with entitlements that have put the dollar at risk of collapse, possibly be lauded as the heir to Nixon et.al?

    Please get serious.

  2. Nixon was not exactly a pacifist himself. But he was a peacemaker. And blessed are they.

He was also, however, the first President to allow abortion at federal taxpayers' expense. On overseas military bases.
