God's Architect

On this bicentenary of the birth of Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin, consider that Gothic architecture expresses the Church's continuity both with the Middle Ages and with the Catholic Revival, while Romanesque architecture also expresses Her Medieval continuity, while Baroque architecture expresses Her continuity with the Catholic Reformation, while Byzantine architecture expresses Her Petrine Unity of the Western and several Eastern Patriarchates, and while Classical architecture expresses the recapitulation in Jesus Christ and His Church of all three of the Old Israel, Hellenism, and the Roman Empire.
