For That Matter

No, of course 18-year-olds should not be on juries. I am not even sure about 21-year-olds. 30 would do, but it is not going to happen, so we need to work for the restoration of 21.

Being able to vote, pay tax, get married and serve in the Armed Forces have nothing to do with this. For that matter, they have nothing to do with each other.

  1. Age is no guarantee of enough common sense to serve on juries. The jury I spent 6 weeks on showed me that it's everyone or no one when it comes to juries.

  2. Although, in a different sense, would that it were everyone or no one. Conviction by majority verdict is conviction where there is reasonable doubt. It is an abomination.
