Gay and Straight

What is this "or"? And why should David Cameron have included that pairing at all? As both a happy and an honest person, neither characteristic strikes me as comparable to being "black or white, rich or poor". But did Cameron sing the entire theme tune to Only Fools And Horses? If not, why not?
