Don't see a problem with it myself! But booze is pretty low down the list of things to get worked up about.

ReplyDeleteCan't say I agree with the move - capitalism has led to the closure of many pubs as off-licenses, mainly supermarkets have raced to the bottom in terms of prices. To see people socialising over alcohol in bars and pubs rather than in other places through tax reductions in classified 'public houses' would, in my view, work far better than any age limit.
ReplyDeleteBesides, such a move as the SNP is proposing would perhaps make Berwick even more determined to rejoin Scotland: it shall very quickly find a number of off-licenses in its vicinity!
