The Longest Way Round?

Lilian Greenwood has been appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department for Transport. Nine days ago, she was sacked from the exact same job. So much for the Employment Rights Bill, with Keir Starmer himself practising fire and rehire.

Then again, who else might Starmer have preferred? Emily Thornberry? Following her confirmation today that Peter Mandelson had not been vetted until after he had been made Ambassador to the United States, thank heavens, even more than before, for the Hillsborough Law. And Keir, dear, be nice to the people you meet on the way up, because you meet them all again on the way back down.
