Truth Defence, Indeed

Amid the whinging that Jeremy Corbyn's phenomenal legal defence fund is evolving into the highly promising Truth Defence, I would love to see the Labour Right raise £2:50 from the voluntary donations of the general public.

The unions are starting to ask what the hell they are paying for. And next year's local elections are going to demolish the base of Council Tax, business rates, pension funds looking to invest, sweeteners and backhanders from property developers, and so on.

The right-wing Labour machine will no longer be the device for obtaining a councillor's allowance, or a cushy job with the council, or a better council house, or any council house. So there will be no remaining point to it. Since left-wingers would never now join the Labour Party, much less become actively involved in it, then who will? Why would anyone?

The fall of the parliamentary Red Wall is important. But this is going to be the big one, the one that will really change the culture and society of many of the most populous parts of the country.
