As lockdown is reimposed in Aberdeen, the schools in Scotland are due to go back next week. The Scots objected very forcefully to being the guinea pigs for the Poll Tax. Just wait until they were the guinea pigs for Covid-19 in schools. The question is whether they will put the blame where it belonged, since health and education are both devolved.
Likewise, the claim that yesterday's systematic marking down of pupils from poorer areas reflected a socioeconomic situation that was not of the SNP's or the Scottish Qualification Authority's making does not stand up. The SNP has been in power in Scotland on every day that this cohort has been at school. But so useless is the Opposition in Scotland that that point is rarely made.
Even so, at next year's Holyrood Election, please vote for whoever was best placed to defeat the SNP in each constituency, and give your list vote to the Alliance for Unity. There is a rumour, although it is nothing more than that, that in Glasgow, Nicola Sturgeon's city and where it is practically impossible for the SNP to win a list seat, the Alliance for Independence's list is to be headed by Alex Salmond. Fresh from the publication of everything that he knew, imagine his arrival at the count.
