No one in politics or the upper reaches of the Civil Service knows what a BTEC or a Sixth Form college is. A Sixth Form is part of a school, while a college is part of a university. "BTEC" would strike them as Cyrillic script, except that they would be more likely to be able to read Cyrillic script out loud than to tell you what "BTEC" said.
I also did three arts A-levels at a school Sixth Form, and I also went to a collegiate university. But I know what these things are. And that is why I no longer contest elections. Imagine that I had got in. What would they have done with me once I had got there? What would they have let me become? Nothing, that's what. Absolutely nothing.
