County Durham has had one of the country's highest rates of Covid-19 related care deaths in care homes. Durham County Council refused to pass on the money provided by the Government to care homes unless they accepted untested patients from hospitals. That decision was later reversed, but the damage was done.
Vote for whoever was best placed to defeat Labour in each ward. We are still trying to get George Galloway to contest the Leader's ward. He has not said no, but time is pressing on if we are going to get him registered here. How I wish that I had thought of this four years ago.
An active member of Cumbria County Council is an active Labour member of the House of Lords, so it would be quite easy to serve on Durham County Council while sitting for South Scotland at Holyrood.
