We glory in our literature, but we close our libraries.

We glory in London, but we flog it off to the highest bidder and to the highest builder.

Alan Bennett's work has been going off the boil for some time. But he can still have his moments.

      He;s not partisan, and in nay case he would probably speak his mind a bit too much. He'd be right, but a General Election campaign has to be a General Election campaign.
