Progress, Indeed

The September edition of Progress has arrived.

There are some dire moments, notably the editorial on Syria and Iraq.

But Gordon Brown tears apart "the SNP's false promise of social democracy", while John McTernan (yes, John McTernan) calls on Labour to "define the victory" of the No side in terms of the "old-time religion" of "socialism".

Greg Rosen vigorously defends both the co-ops in general and the Co-operative Party in particular. And David Talbot questions whether the unions ever fell in love with the EU, or ever should have done so, explaining that they are very far from being so today.

Whatever else New Labour was or was not, it was undeniably a long time ago.
