He Roars No More

It is very odd indeed for the Thatcherite-libertarian Right to be seeking to identify itself with the DUP. That is strange not only socially and culturally, but also economically.

"Oh God, in wrath, take vengeance against this wicked, treacherous and lying woman, Margaret Thatcher," prayed Ian Paisley from his pulpit. And He did.

It was remarkable to hear today Paisley's concluding a speech with "God Save The King", a reminder not only of how old he was, but of how early he had started. He was a frontline politician for as good as 70 years.

The definitive Catholic answers to his theological views have been readily available for well over 400 years. His son, namesake, and successor in the parliamentary seat that he held for 40 years, is a Founding Signatory to the One Nation Society.
