For If It Prosper

But it isn't prospering anymore.

Murdoch used what was then Britain's biggest circulation newspaper to vilify the Royal Family as part of the campaign by his client, Margaret Thatcher, to usurp the monarchical and royal roles on the national and international stages.

Murdoch used his puppet governments on opposite sides of the world to legislate over the heads of the rather less pliable Australian states in order to abolish the right of the Westminster Parliament to legislate for them, abolish the British Government's consultative role in the appointment of their Governors, and abolish the right of Her Majesty's Australian subjects to appeal to Her Majesty in Council.

And Murdoch renounced even his nominal allegiance to the Queen in order to circumvent the entirely sensible ban on foreign ownership of television stations in the United States.

So he probably thought that he could get away with corrupting the Royal Protection Squad and, by the looks of it, tapping the Queen's telephone. In fact, he probably thought that he had already got away with it.

Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

Oh lordy, the voice of neo-colonialism is doning his safari-suit and packing his feathery hat and riding crop - and of course bullwhip to deal with the natives.

Australia is an independent country you strange man. What next. British people having to appeal to the appeal court in Caen since this nation was effectively colonised by the Normans!

And you wail about the role of the European Courts hear.

The reactionary, hypocritical, neo-colonial voice of the provinces indeed.

    You ridiculous man!

  2. Good to hear from the losers. Today, you have lost even bigger than you did when Ed Miliband became Labour Leader, itself an even bigger loss for you than when the Heir to Blair failed to win an overall majority outright. Diddums.

  3. BDJ knows that this post's title is a quotation, but he does not know where from. That makes him angry. It must be awful being BDJ, our society is very cruel for promoting people like him so far beyond their capabilities.

As this is supposed to be a reasonably intelligent blog it would help if contributors could spell correctly and be aware of syntax when criticising others.

    "doning his safari suit.."

    "....European courts hear."

Grammar is shocking in the first sentence, and the third sentence is a question.

Is the writer an undergrad or a post-grad?
