Facing The Black Mountain

Taki's column is one of his trademark name-dropping accounts of fabulous wealth. We wouldn't have him any other way.

He calls on his readers to boycott Claridge's until it apologises to him by means of a full-page advertisement both in The Spectator and in Taki's Magazine. Well, I for one cannot see myself going there until that happy event. Can you?

However, as always in Taki's work, there is a serious point if you are paying attention. From Dubrovnik, to which his friend's private jet was diverted, to Porto Montenegro, where they were attending Nat Rothschild's fortieth birthday over three days and three nights, was a car journey of only one hour's duration.

Oh, well, never mind. The forces of Croatia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Slovenia and Bosnia-Herzegovina are all fighting in Afghanistan. So that's all right, then. Isn't it?
