Shameless, Indeed

One c-word per episode, devoutly. Yes, I know that that is nothing compared to how such characters speak in real life. But come on. And then there is The Tudors, which sticks to the same rule, presumably for the cachet of a late night slot, since, useful though it is in some ways (notably in depicting the continuing ambivalences of Catholic and Protestant identity throughout Henry VIII's reign, not least in his own person), the makers can hardly have imagined that their work might otherwise have been used as a teaching aid in schools. Can they?

  1. You need to watch Deadwood.

  2. They don't do it in that "one per episode - spot it as if it were Hitchcock" way.
