Durham Labour Representation Committee will hold its inaugural meeting this evening, from 7:30 to 9:30.
In Committee Room 1a of County Hall.
That's right. County Hall, Durham. Than which the Labour Right has had no more secure fortress for a hundred years.
But then, being on the Labour Right, though characteristically not liking the term, is as different as is conceivable from being a Blairite, and therefore a supporter of the cuts.
Indeed, the Facebook page for this meeting is illustrated with a picture taken on Palace Green, presumably on Big Meeting Day, of a very traditional trade union banner, probably NUM, against the backdrop of Durham Cathedral. Splendid stuff.

We've got our party back.
ReplyDeleteNot without electoral reform, we haven't. Then we'd have our own party, which could never be anything else.
