Burying The SpAds

Why not just sack the lot of them? What are they for? What do they do? Even PPSes are not paid, although they are still pernicious in depriving potentially effective backbenchers of that role. But SpAds are actually drawing salaries from the rest of us. Away with them.

    But how else would they find a job that consisted of nothing but getting paid to look for a safe seat, complete with a glowing reference from a minister?

    How, indeed? Who knows, we might even get safe seats going to grown-ups, and to people who could not just as easily be members of any of three parties? Imagine that...

    I mean, exactly what Special Advice does a 22-year-old give?
