Back On Track

"Thanks to the great support across the North East we now have over 3,700 signatures calling for the Government to honour the Intercity Express Programme and bring back train manufacturing to the North East. This is a staggering achievement.

I'm writing to you now to let you know that the closing date for the petitions is Friday 8th October and we would dearly love to break the 4,000 barrier. The petitions will then be presented the following week to 10 Downing Street by Phil Wilson MP and Kevin Rowan from the Northern TUC.

To download your petitions click this link, which includes the return addresses.

If you have petitions to return please don't forget to send them back to us this week. Don't worry if the petitions aren't fully completed - we'd rather have every signature.

We're now at a crucial stage in the campaign. With just 18 days to go to the announcement one last push to keep up the pressure could make a difference.

Let's bring train-building home.

Thank you in advance,
Neil Foster
Northern TUC"
