With the last Commonwealth country having gone the way of the oldest ally, that leaves Uruguay. Effectively created by Britain in 1828. The sort of country with which William Hague should favour a strong alliance. And probably does.

  2. I understand that Germany plays Argentina within the hour. At the end of the day, sooner the defeat of either of those by the state created by the Treaty of Montevideo than that state's defeat at either of their hands.
