Altogether Exceptional

It happens quite a lot.

In an environment normally made up of highly capable people at least quite a few of whom could in principle have made it to the very top, someone turns up who is altogether exceptional, and suddenly there is no contest.

Those who would otherwise have been in with a fighting chance can become terribly bitter. That means you, Charles Clarke.

I don’t know what Byers thinks is his excuse, though. Why does he still have the Whip? Why would he even want it?
