MPs Already Have Accommodation

On the face if it, the idea of housing all MPs in a dedicated block of flats close to Westminster sounds absolutely inspired.

All 630-plus honourable members could reside during the week in what the BBC describes as an "upmarket student hall of residence." A leading Tory, David MacLean, said the move, prompted by the row over the £23,000 MPs can claim every year to furnish their second homes, was "unlikely", particularly because property prices in London are so high. But he didn't rule it out altogether.

There is only one real problem here - MPs already have a dedicated building where they can spend whole days and nights eating, drinking, watching TV, sleeping, fornicating and even having the occasional shower. It's called the Houses of Parliament.
