The Thirties Re-Enactment Society

Brown's trip to America is getting certain people, both there and here, misty-eyed. Weren't things so much better under dear old Tony Blair? That might as well be the Tory slogan at the next Election. If you don't think that they were, then you can't possibly vote Tory (including Clegg Tory).

People like Lord Redesdale and Archibald Ramsay were far more dangerous than Redesdale's son-in-law, Oswald Mosley, whom Hitler himself regarded as an amusing irrelevance, and whose movement was simply legislated out of existence well before the War. Redesdale, Ramsay and their ilk loathed Hitler's domestic policies, but loved his foreign policies.

Blair's American and wannabe-American admirers are just the same. They don't approve of, say, homosexual civil partnerships. They just love blowing up certain parts of the world and certain ethnic groups. Here, they even replicate the social disdain for Hitler and the Nazis personally. There and here, they are the aristocratic Nazi sympathisers of the present age. And they are in full flow today.
