Assessment

So the baby boy illegally taken (in other words, kidnapped) from his mother must be kept in municipal custody until the whole business has been “assessed”. I have made proposals here about redressing the class bias in the judiciary, although at least as big a problem in cases such as these is the total opaqueness of the family courts.

But there is also the question of social work qualifications. Social Services are a County Council function where such bodies exist, and County Councils are routinely strongholds of Faith, Flag, Family and Farming Toryism, as well of schools of Labourism and Liberalism not, when analysed, a million miles from that.

Yet, in this as in several other fields, they employ on the basis of qualifications based on the views of the people who run all three parties in the most achingly fashionable London Boroughs. How hard would it be for them to club together in order to devise and deliver something more acceptable, on which they could then insist from applicants for employment?
