Precipitate

A week ago, Donald Trump told Congress that Iran's nuclear capability had been destroyed. Yet by Friday night, there was an imminent threat of Iranian nuclear attack. That became an imminent threat of a conventional attack to defend the nuclear weapons programme.

And now the line from Marco Rubio is that, "The President made the very wise decision: we knew that there was going to be an Israeli action, we knew that that would precipitate an attack against American forces, and we knew that if we didn't preemptively go after them before they launched those attacks, we would suffer higher casualties."

Freedom and democracy are under attack in Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. Didn't we once "liberate" Iraq? The Emiratis are banned by Statute from acquiring British newspapers. And Saudi Arabia's only equal for freedom and democracy is North Korea, although not even that directs terrorism on the streets of Britain. The Arab states are now "defended" by the IDF that wears patches showing Israel from the Nile to the Euphrates, its borders according to the American Ambassador.

Cyprus, meanwhile, is defended by the Hellenic Navy. The British Armed Forces there failed to protect it from Turkish invasion in 1974, and their presence is now the threat. As for "The attack on RAF Akrotiri was not in response to any decision that we have taken", how stupid does Keir Starmer think we are? Notice that in practice no one thinks that the Sovereign Base Areas are "really" British, like, say, Britain.
