"You should stand for Police and Crime Commissioner in 2020."
Now, there's a thought.
Political prisoner, activist, journalist, hymn-writer, emerging thinktanker, aspiring novelist, "tribal elder", 2019 parliamentary candidate for North West Durham, Shadow Leader of the Opposition, "Speedboat", "The Cockroach", eagerly awaiting the second (or possibly third) attempt to murder me.
I fear that Crime Commissioner would be a clash of interests with your newspaper proprietorship. How is the latter going - will it be available in shops nationwide or is it starting off by subscription.
ReplyDeleteThey must be held to account for their actions
Oh, it's quietly coming along rather well, although it's a magazine, not a newspaper. But a daily paper with a circulation of 900,000 (and we have pretensions to that) was until recently edited by a sitting MP. He gave up only because other things were more lucrative, and now has more jobs than fingers. But he is still the Editor. It can be done.
DeleteAre you really going to do this?
ReplyDeleteI haven't decided yet. It had never occurred to me until someone on here suggested it earlier today.
DeleteLike the Radio Times, will you do a double issue for Christmas
ReplyDeleteThat will depend on whether everyone had managed to get their copy in on time at the end of the December. An editor's lot is not always a happy one.
