Will They Let Us?

I have lost count of the number of people (some of them really quite highly placed either now or in the recent past) who have commended me for setting up the British People's Alliance, but insisted that the Electoral Commission would never register such a thing.

Maoists, fine. Nazis, no problem. Monster Raving Loonies, gladly. But economically social democratic, morally and socially conservative British and Commonwealth patriots? The restored party of Attlee, Bevin, Morrison, Bevan and Gaitskell? No chance. After all, somebody might seriously want to vote for that. And that would never do. Would it?

Well, would it? The forms are now in, and the cheque might even have been cashed. So we shall see soon enough. Won't we?

So what happened to the ones whose high placement was in the recent past but who are no longer quite so elevated? Were they sacked? Demoted? Defrocked?
