The Metropolitan Police is between Commissioners, and if it ever wants another one, or at least another one who was not Carrie Johnson, then it will drop the whole partygate business.
After Child Q, and today's report into corruption, it has no weight to throw around. Under cover of the war in Ukraine, things are just going to be made to go away. They are just going to have to be.
